This Privacy Policy describes how Trust Post (“Trust Post”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses information about you when you visit trustpost.org (the “Site”).
In short: Trust Post does not ask you for personal information. The Site has no user accounts, no registration, no newsletter, no comment system and no data collection forms. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone. The information described in this policy is collected automatically rather than requested from you, principally by Google’s analytics and advertising services, which fund the Site, and by the standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.
Please read this policy carefully. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
Information We Collect
We collect a limited amount of information, most of it automatically and none of it requiring you to identify yourself. The categories are set out below.

We do not collect financial account details, government identifiers, precise geolocation, biometric data or any special category data as defined under the GDPR.

Our Google Analytics property identifier is G-PHSTGVQMQE. Our Google AdSense publisher identifier is ca-pub-9729650021221601. We have not enabled Google Signals advertising features on our Analytics property.
Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from reading any article on the Site, as no content is gated.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain and deliver the Site
- To measure readership in aggregate and understand which articles are useful
- To display advertising, which funds the Site
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent, abusive or unlawful activity
- To respond to your correspondence and to investigate reported errors

We do not use your information to build marketing profiles, and we do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for payment. We disclose information only in the following circumstances.
- Service providers. Our hosting provider processes server requests. Google processes analytics and advertising data as described in this policy.
- Advertising partners. Google and its certified partners receive advertising identifiers in order to serve and measure ads.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, court order or a valid governmental request, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
- Business transfers. If the Site is sold or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Advertising and Your Choices
Advertising on the Site is served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You have the following controls, each of which operates independently of us.
- Manage or disable personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center
- Opt out of participating third-party vendors at the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool or Your Online Choices in Europe
- Prevent Google Analytics from collecting data using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on

The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as no common standard for their interpretation has been adopted. We do honour Global Privacy Control signals where our advertising partners support them.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details under Contact Information and we will delete it.
Your Privacy Rights
Subject to your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal information.
- Right to know or access the personal information we hold about you
- Right to correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to deletion of your personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising
- Right to data portability in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object to or restrict certain processing
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
Residents of California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the rights described under Your Privacy Rights, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected, the sources of that information, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed. Those categories are set out under Information We Collect.
Trust Post does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for monetary consideration. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. You may exercise your rights, or designate an authorised agent to do so on your behalf, using the details under How to Exercise Your Rights.
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Other US States
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy legislation, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana, have rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising. You may exercise these rights using the details under How to Exercise Your Rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response, and we will inform you of the outcome in writing.
Residents of Nevada
Nevada law permits residents to opt out of the sale of certain personal information to third parties who will license or sell that information. Trust Post does not engage in such sales. You may nonetheless submit a request using the details under How to Exercise Your Rights.
Residents of the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, Trust Post acts as the data controller for the information described in this policy. We rely on the following legal bases.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time using the controls under Advertising and Your Choices, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States by Google, which relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and applicable adequacy frameworks. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any right described in this policy, email contact@trustpost.org with the word “Privacy” in the subject line, stating the right you wish to exercise. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the period required by applicable law, which is 45 days under the CCPA and one month under the GDPR, in each case extendable where permitted.
Because the Site does not operate user accounts, we may be unable to associate a request with a specific individual. We may ask for additional information solely to verify your identity or locate the relevant data. Much of the information described in this policy is held by Google rather than by us, and requests concerning Google Analytics or advertising data are usually resolved fastest through the controls listed under Advertising and Your Choices.
Data Retention
- Server access logs are retained by our hosting provider on a short rolling basis for security and diagnostic purposes
- Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured on our property, after which Google deletes user-level records
- The
trustpost_viewed_<id>cookie expires automatically after 24 hours - Email correspondence is retained only for as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry, except where a record is required as part of our corrections process
Data Security
The Site is served exclusively over HTTPS and sends an upgrade-insecure-requests directive so that browsers will not load resources over unencrypted connections. Our first-party cookie is flagged Secure and HttpOnly. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We limit risk principally by minimising the information we collect.
Links to Other Websites
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including sources cited in our articles and destinations reached through advertisements. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will provide a summary of those changes at the top of the policy. Your continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
