Analysts at MarketsandMarkets put the global digital signage market at $21.07 billion in 2026, growing to $30.91 billion by 2032 at a compound annual rate of 6.6 percent. That growth has produced dozens of platforms with near-identical feature lists and very different pricing philosophies. Prices moved this year. On 1 April 2026 Yodeck raised Premium from $11 to $12 and Enterprise from $15 to $16 per screen per month, while Basic stayed at $8. The company confirmed in its 2026 pricing update that existing annual subscriptions hold their old rate until renewal. The catch is arithmetic: at fifty screens on Premium you are looking at $600 a month, which is the point where flat-rate or self-hosted options start to win.

Hardware support is unusually broad, covering Android, Windows, ChromeOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi, Fire TV Stick, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen, so existing smart TVs can often be used as they are.

The published OptiSigns pricing runs Standard at $10, Pro at $12.50, Pro Plus at $15, Engage at $30 and Enterprise at $45 per screen per month, with 10 percent off for annual billing and a 25 screen minimum on Enterprise. A free plan covers up to three screens with 25 basic apps, 1GB of storage and playlists capped at 30 items, but it stamps the OptiSigns logo on your screens and leaves out scheduling, so treat it as a trial rather than a deployment.

Rise Vision has effectively won the education segment. It ships more than 750 ready-made templates for announcements, menus, event boards and dashboards, includes unlimited storage and offline playback, and supports emergency alerts using the Common Alerting Protocol, which is the standard that lets a school’s existing alert system take over every screen in the building.

Pricing on the K-12 tier is Basic at $11 per display per month billed monthly, Advanced at $138 per display per year, and Enterprise at $164 per display per year or $1,399 per school per year for unlimited displays. That unlimited school licence is the detail worth circling: any campus running more than nine displays is better off on the site licence, and volume discounts kick in at 11, 70 and 200 displays on yearly billing.

Play Digital Signage matches Yodeck’s price ladder almost exactly, with Essential at $8, Pro at $12 and Ultimate at $16 per screen per month, and it keeps the first screen free permanently in exchange for a review within the first 30 days. Its zone-based editor is strong for splitting a screen into content regions, and it runs on Fire TV Stick, Android, Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi and Google TV.

Two billing details set it apart. Monthly plans are charged on actual screen usage hours rather than a flat rate, which suits seasonal or part-time screens, and there is 10 percent off for annual prepayment plus further reductions above five screens and 20 percent for certified non-profits. Uploads are unlimited with no storage fees.

7. REACH Media Network: Hands-On Support and Done-For-You Design

REACH sells service as much as software. Every account gets a named account manager, custom-branded layout design assistance and unlimited training, which is why it scores at the top of its category for customer support on G2 and why it lands in healthcare, government and higher education where internal design resource is thin.

Published entry pricing sits around $20 per month with no contracts and unlimited users, storage and support, while third-party listings show per-display rates closer to $25 per month. In practice REACH quotes most deployments individually, so treat the listed figure as a floor and get a written quote that names your screen count.

8. Xibo: Open Source Signage With No Per-Screen Software Fee

Xibo is the option to look at when per-screen subscriptions stop making sense. The CMS is open source and can be self-hosted on your own server, and the Windows player is free under the AGPLv3 or later licence. At fifty screens, where a $12 per screen platform costs $7,200 a year, a self-hosted Xibo instance costs whatever your server costs, regardless of how many displays you add.

The trade is labour. You own the server, the backups, the updates and the security patching, and there is no help desk on the community edition. Read the table by screen count rather than by headline price. Below ten screens the per-screen platforms are cheapest and the free tiers make piloting genuinely free.
