Visitors in Washington, D.C. were surprised this week after a strange statue suddenly appeared on the National Mall, one of the most famous public spaces in the United States.
The artwork shows former US President Donald Trump and late financier Jeffrey Epstein standing together in a pose inspired by the famous scene from the movie Titanic. In that movie scene, two characters stand at the front of a ship with their arms stretched out. The statue recreates that exact pose.
The sculpture quickly grabbed attention online and on social media, with many people stopping to take photos.
What the Statue Looks Like
The installation is around 12 feet tall and painted in gold color. It shows Trump standing behind Epstein while both face forward from the edge of a ship-like structure.
The artwork is titled “King of the World,” a phrase made famous by the Titanic film. The design copies the moment where the movie characters stand at the front of the ship and shout that line.
A plaque placed near the sculpture includes a satirical message referencing the relationship between the two men.
Who Made the Installation
The statue was reportedly created by an anonymous group of artists known as Secret Handshake. The group is known for putting up political or satirical art in public spaces around Washington.
This is not the first time they have installed artwork about Trump and Epstein. A previous statue showing the two men holding hands also appeared on the National Mall in 2025.
The artists often keep their identities hidden and use their projects to spark discussion about politics and public figures.
Public Reaction
The statue quickly became a talking point. Some visitors laughed and treated it as political satire, while others criticized the installation and questioned why it was allowed in such an important national location.
Photos and videos of the statue spread across social media platforms within hours, turning the artwork into a viral topic.
